A Foursquare Church
About Us
The Core of who we are
HCN is an Apostolic Community (Ephesians 4:11-12) which is cultivating an Awareness & Response to what the Father is doing (John 5:19) which results in us Going & Sending (Luke 10:1, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 13:1-2) an thereby engaging in Global Mission (Acts1:8).
Here what this all means:
- Apostolic Community – encouraging, enriching and empowering every member of the community to live a life fully alive in Christ, and to have full participation in His mission
- Awareness & Response – not trying to make anything happen, in life or ministry, but responding to everything we see the Father doing
- Going & Sending – everyone going locally with the good news of Jesus Christ, some being sent to the ends of the Earth
- Global Mission – Every member of the community fully engaged with the global passion of Jesus – in their own neighborhood and across the planet – through prayer, giving, and witness
The seven things most important to our community
- Relationship with God
- Relationship with others - a life shared together in multigenerational community
- Living out love, acceptance and forgiveness
- The pursuit and fruit of spiritual disciplines
- Jesus Christ's empowering Presence
- Spiritual multiplication - sharing the love and life of Christ, seeing more follow Him
- Authenticity and simplicity in our life and faith
Creating Our Spiritual Environment
We seek our community to have a spiritual atmosphere which allows us all to grow in the knowledge, love and grace of Jesus Christ. To that end we seek to become a:
- City of Refuge – a safe harbor, full of love, acceptance & forgiveness
- House of Healing – a family where broken people can be made whole
- City on a Hill – a living example of the goodness and love of God
The Mission of Our Community
- Loving God with everything we are, and being loved by Him with everything He is
- Loving and serving others because He first loved us, and
- Making disciples for Jesus everywhere we go, all the time
