Our Life

A way of life – that is what Christianity is to us. Our relationship with God is something that is lived-out – 24/7/365 – everywhere we go. It is not just a "religion" or a "faith," not something we "do" or that is just one part of a compartmentalized life. It is radical allegiance to the One who is life:

"I am the way, and the truth, and the life."
    -- Jesus Christ, John 14:6

And it is all encompassing. It is not just about politics or morality or social action, but an all-consuming devotion to the One, a whole-life commitment to Christ and His kingdom rule in us. How could we not love the One who loved us so much that He died for our shame?

You broke the bonds
and You loosened the chains
carried the Cross
of all my shame
all my shame
You know I believe it

    -- U2

So, yeah, it will affect the way we vote – individually, and not is some lock step fashion behind someone’s agenda. And yes, our commitment to Christ will drive our individual personal ethic – how we treat others. Likewise, His love for us compels us to love others. For us that means taking action, so caring what happens to other people, and caring for other people – spiritually and practically, is huge to us.

To us, “church” is not something we attend; rather it is something we are - peo-ple called out to serve God and other people.

So, for our gathering together, we keep it simple. Our life pattern is that we gather weekly, usually in homes, and we also gather all together monthly for one big celebration of our God and our life together in Him. The smaller environ-ments each week allow us to know and care for one another deeply, and invite friends who may not want to go to “church” into the life of our community simply by having them come to our place. Usually, there is lots of food, great people having fun together, time for prayer and some serious discussion around the Scriptures.

Our large group celebration gives us an opportunity to touch base with our larger community, hear what God is doing among us, have a powerful time of worship through song and interact with our Lead Pastors in the study of Scripture.

All in all, our way of life is pretty straightforward. We are just seeking to be authentic followers of Christ, keeping it real and simple, loving God, other people, seeking to become better followers of Jesus Christ.

Your are always welcome to join us as we gather. You can find information on our monthly celebration here, and you can email here if you want information on one of the weekly gatherings. We are all on a journey together – and are always looking for walking partners!
