Thank you for taking the time to fill-out this Benevolence Request Form. First know that we will be praying for you and your current situation. Second, we wanted to explain how receiving benevolence assistance works at Horizon Christian Fellowship. The funds that are typically used to help with benevolence assistance are funds that are given directly from those that attend HCF. There are even some that will specifically give to allow the church to help those that might find themselves in need. This is actually found in the Bible and what the early church would do. Take a look at this passage from the book of Acts:

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. Acts 2:44,45 ESV

In the early church people would literally sell their possessions in order to help others within the church that found themselves in need. What an awesome example of truly caring for those around us.

Here is how it works:

  • Fill-out the Benevolence Assistance Request Form
  • The Form is then reviewed by our Pastors on staff
  • We pray over it and discuss the need
  • We typically do not assist with items that are not essential needs
  • We typically do not distribute funds to an individual or the person requesting. There must be a bill or invoice for us to review
  • The church is not a bank with unlimited resources, that is why we pray over each request
  • We are not able to help everyone and we might not be able to assist
  • Benevolence assistance is not a loan. If you feel led to give back, we ask that you contribute to our Acts 2:45 fund. You can write a check to the church and put “Acts 2:45 fund” in the memo or select that designation through our online giving portal.
