Here at Horizon Christian Fellowship all of our counseling is done through our Pastoral Care office.
We first would like to make clear that none of our counselors our Pastors are professional licensed therapist. We go to God’s word for counsel and try to avoid giving man’s advice or instructions. In fact, any advice or instruction you may receive will line up with scripture from the Bible. The Bible is God’s living word and all issues that pertain to life can be found in it. Our desire is to exhort, challenge, encourage, and comfort those who come in through His word.
What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is based upon the Word of God. It addresses the complexity of life issues within the context of Scripture.
Biblical counseling concentrates on matters of the heart– our thoughts, attitudes, motives, actions and speech, indicating genuine and lasting change occurs as the result of the working of the Holy Spirit in one’s heart, (Eph. 3:16-19).
Biblical counseling is process; its approach is conformity to the likeness of Christ and is accomplished through salvation, (John 3:36), growing in Christ, and putting off the old man and putting on the new man (Eph. 4:22-24 and Col. 3:9-10). It emphasizes the glory of God
Biblical Counseling provides a hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5) and it emphasizes the glory of God.
